While being in the class Creative Writing, I was required to write a fairytale, something I had never done before; prior to the class. It was difficult for me to start it, but it turned out better than I thought it would. I learned how to make my story seem like real life, but have the qualities of a fairytale. My story had to have potential, because I won runner up in the writing contest. I even learned about puntuation in Creative Writing.

   One of my favorite parts of the class though, was the morning pages. I always write, but I had never noticed I was speaking my mind directly onto paper. It sounds weird, but it’s hard to explain. Going through my morning pages made me laugh. It’s amazing to be able to read and know what you were thinking at that exact moment. Creative Writing was really a worthwhile course.

   Some things that they did suggest though were, add more lines, check punctuation, and make some of my poems ryhme. I actually took heed to these comments because they all make sense. In my English class, my teacher always tell me to make my sentences less choppy;  in my reflections. I tried not have choppy, unclear lines; but I may need to work on that. One thing though is, some of my lines are short because that’s how I wanted them. Short lines create a certain tone. All of my lines aren’t short, just the ones that I preferred to be short. I have intentions on using a dictionary to find more complex words. I want my poems to be unique, one of a kind. I want my chap book to represent who I am; in a way.  The feedback that I was given shaped my thoughts.  I wish they would have given the feedback in more depth, but hey, what can I say.

    Not only do I like this word because  I believe it describes me, but the way it sounds is appealing as well. When you say the word, it’s almost like you have to put emphasis into the word just to pronounce it. The sss when you say indefeasible is pleasing to my ears.  The word alone stands out. I like the word indfeasible because it means I can’t be defeated.

    My story even included things from the future, well at least how I picture the future. I did experience a writer’s block though. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to happen next. As I continued writing some of my ideas changed as well. It turned out better than what I expected.

     My peers that edited my story said it was really good. My little sister and cousin really liked it as well. My story is so special because almost anyone can relate to it. It’s made up and include things that can’t actually happen, but it can be understood. My fairy tale is the bom digity!!!

       It’s going to be about a girl who falls in love with a boy. She doesn’t know that he has powers. He controls females, and his plan is to break her heart. He’s not supposed to have feelings, but ironically, he’s going to fall in love. It’s going to be awesome!

Also, in these last two weeks, my mind has been opened to a different kind of writing. The article that we read about the little girl and the glue jar really stood out to me. She used fine detail that grasped my attention. She helped me to understand that you can write about one very small event in your life, and it can make perfectly good sense. I took note on how she used her words, and I wrote a nice paper about a special event in my life.
